To assist you with your involvement in the Business Achiever Awards please see below for an outline of the processes involved:

STAGE ONE - READER NOMINATION

How to vote:

Nomination coupons will appear in your local Quest community newspaper over four consecutive weeks.  These coupons will list all of the categories in the awards. 

In-Paper Coupons: Voters are simply required to fill in your business details (business name, business street address and business telephone number) in your relevant category and return the completed nomination coupon to Quest Community Newspapers prior to the deadline for voting (this deadline will appear on the coupon).

REMEMBER TO PROMOTE YOURSELF DURING THIS TIME. THE MORE VOTES YOU RECEIVE THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES ARE OF GOING THROUGH TO BECOME A FINALIST.

What next?

  • Certificates and congratulatory letters are sent when a business is nominated during the four-week nomination period.
  • Top 6 businesses progress to stage 2 - becoming a finalist. All other nominees are eliminated from progressing through to judging (stage 2).
  • If you are a finalist, a finalist pack will be sent to you outlining what your business must do to continue through into the judging stage of the Business Achievers Program.

STAGE TWO – THE BUSINESS DIAGNOSTIC SURVEY

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SHOW HOW EFFICIENT & EFFECTIVE YOUR BUSINESS IS

The Business Achiever Awards are pleased to be working with My Yardstick Professional to conduct this online business diagnostic survey.  The purpose of this survey is to gauge how you, the business owner, perceives your business procedures.

The survey is predominantly a multiple choice assessment constructed and administered by our judging partner to ensure that there is total impartiality during the evaluation.

With only 20-30 minutes of your time required to complete the survey, you have increased your chance in progressing to stage 3. 

As you will be provided with a comparative report at the end of the program, we encourage you to get involved. This is a FREE way of seeing what other businesses are doing and how your business stacks up against the rest.

What next?

  • Photographers contact finalists to set up a photo shoot of your business.
  • Top 3 scoring businesses only progress to the mystery shop audit. This information is kept confidential. 

STAGE THREE – MYSTERY SHOP AUDIT

(Top 3 finalists from each category)

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE JUDGING – HOW YOUR CUSTOMER PERCEIVES YOU.

The top three businesses in point score (Stage 1 + Stage 2) are put through the Mystery Shop Audit.

The audit is secretly carried out by an external professional mystery shopping agency.

The purpose of this stage is to obtain a report on how your business interacts with customers on a personal level. Each mystery shopper is evaluating you based on customer service and presentation only.

What they are looking for:

  • Form of greeting (either via phone, email or walk in)
  • Look & functionality of the shop front or website (if applicable)
  • Staff knowledge of product &/or service
  • Presentation of staff and attention to detail of staff
  • Speed of response to enquiry or providing a service

TIP: You could be mystery shopped via walk in, via phone or website enquiry.

Mystery Shopping is the key to success. It is at this stage that the business really makes a difference to the judging.
